Canberra Raiders stars Terry Campese, Alan Tongue and Danny Galea took time out of their preparations for tomorrow nights trial match against the Broncos, to visit one of their biggest fans in Luke Nerdel-Bussell.
Luke, who plays for the Souths Logan Magpies under16’s team has been battling cancer and subsequent surgery and was surprised by the Raiders trio who paid him a special visit to wish him all the best in his recovery.
Luke hopes to one day make his way through the Souths Logan ranks and play for the Green Machine and Raiders Captain Alan Tongue said he believed Luke could go all the way with the positive attitude he’s shown during this tough time in his life.
“Luke’s a great kid and we’re just happy we could brighten his day with a visit today to see him in hospital,” Tongue said. “He said one day he wants to play for the Raiders and I think with the toughness he’s shown to us proves he’s got what it takes to achieve this.”
The boys presented Luke with his own Raiders jersey and some other Raiders goodies and wished him all the best in his recovery.
