Canberra Raiders indigenous All-Star Joel Thompson will shift into the centres for the Green Machine this weekend to accommodate the injury to Joel Monaghan, when they take on the Bulldogs at Apex Oval in Dubbo.
Monaghan will meet with his surgeon today to determine the extent of his broken thumb, but it’s expected the representative centre could be out for up to eight weeks.
Raiders NRL All-Star David Shillington will start the match at front row this weekend after being named on the bench for the first trial match, while Travis Waddell returns to the team after sitting out last weekend.
Raiders Coach David Furner has named a 21 man squad in total for the trial in Dubbo.
