The CFMEU Canberra Raiders will be looking to secure the support of some of their country fans on Saturday night in Dubbo, as they look to sign members from the bush ahead of the 2010 season.

Fans who attend the Raiders V Bulldogs match at Apex Oval will have the chance to purchase a 2010 Raiders membership at the gates of entry to the ground and will be able to collect their membership packs on the night.

Raiders memberships officer Mitch Flynn said it’s the perfect chance for Raiders fans in the bush to show their support of the Green Machine and hoped plenty of fans would get behind the clubs push to securing more members.

“We have membership packages that are tailored specifically for fans that live in the country and can’t get to any games,” Flynn said. “These fans can sign up with us on the night and receive there exclusive members cap, key ring and pen while at the same time show their allegiance to the Raiders.”

The Raiders left for Dubbo this morning via Forbes in NSW where they will have a signing session at Spooner Oval, the home town of Raiders 2009 player of the year Josh Miller.

Miller said it was great to be able to take the team through his hometown and said the experience for the locals would be one to remember.

“They don’t get a lot of NRL players coming to Forbes so to have the whole team pass through is great for the town and I think the players will get something out of it as well,” Miller said. “I love going home to Forbes and it’s great to be able to travel through there on our way to Dubbo.”

The Raiders will arrive in Dubbo this afternoon and attend a function for Group 11 Rugby league tonight at the Dubbo RSL. Tomorrow the Raiders will have a training session from 10am at Apex oval, which will be followed by another signing session for fans in the Dubbo region.
