Raiders 2017 Dance Competition

Dance Comp

The Canberra Raiders will look to further broaden their community based approach to game day entertainment in 2017, with the introduction of the Canberra Raiders dance competition.

The new competition will allow local dance schools the opportunity to perform at Raiders home matches next season, with every successful selected school also receiving a cheque for $500 to go towards their organisation to help benefit their dance programs.

Raiders Commercial & Marketing Manager Jason Mathie said the introduction of the Raiders dance competition would hopefully open the door for a new generation of Raiders fans to be a part of Raiders match days, with the Raiders providing an avenue for local dance schools to perform on a larger stage.

“We’re always looking at ways in which we can further engage the community and the Raiders dance competition is a wonderful way for local dance schools to perform in front of a big crowd and help us entertain our members and fans on match day,” Mathie said. “Hopefully it will introduce new people to our game day also, which is a key area of focus for us in season 2017.”
