Draw Announced for Junior Reps

The draw has been announced for the Canberra Raiders Harold Matthews (Under 16s) and SG Ball (Under 18s) sides.

The Raiders enjoyed a marvellous campaign in the SG Ball Cup last year where our talented under 18s side tore opposition teams to shreds with an open and attractive brand of football.

Alas, they were unfortunately beaten in the Grand Final by the Balmain Tigers and finished as runners up for 2012.

Our Harold Matthews side was competitive all year and gained valuable experience that will substantially progress their talents.

Both sides will face last year’s premiers in their respective age groups when they face the Newcastle Knights (Harold Matthews) in round five and the Balmain Tigers (SG Ball) in round seven.

The Raiders Harold Matthews side will also face the Melbourne Storm round four in their inaugural year in the Under 16s competition.

The Raiders have long been leaders in the NRL at producing and developing their talented nursery of juniors with many of our current stars such as Josh Dugan, Jarrod Croker and Sam Williams all progressing through these competitions.

High Performance Manager David Hamilton is eagerly anticipating the next batch of talented youngsters to see how they fare in the upcoming season.

DECEMBER 15: Raiders vs. Western Suburbs Magpies, 16s at 10.00am, 18s at 12.00pm – Goulburn Workers Arena

JANUARY 11: Raiders vs. AIS 18s only at 4.30pm – Northbourne Oval

JANUARY 19: Raiders vs. Cronulla Sharks, 16s at 1.00pm, 18s at 2.30pm – West Belconnen Leagues Club

JANUARY 25: Raiders vs. Manly Sea Eagles, 16s at 5pm, 18s at 6.30pm – Aubrey Keech Reserve, Hinchinbrook (Mounties new ground).
