Message from Joel Thompson

Hey Raiders fans, its Joel Thompson here.

Last month my good friend Ryan Dollisson, otherwise known as Quaddy, had a horrific work-place accident where a 16 tonne high rail excavator reversed without looking or any warning and caught Quaddy underneath it.

The accident has resulted in Quaddy becoming an amputee after losing his right foot just above the ankle. To make matters worse he also received more than 100 stitches to his right buttock and leg to hold it together and a further 15 stitches to his front groin and numerous cuts to his body.

The injuries are so bad that he will never be able to return to his old job and earn the type of money that he was earning. I can only imagine the pain and grief that my family and I would feel if something similar had happened to me.

Quaddy is only 26 years old and he is going through a severely tough time at the moment. Unfortunately, it will continue to be a very tough time ahead for him and his family.

Like all good friends would, I have endeavoured to help my mate Quaddy out as best as I can.
My friends and I have started a bank account and have set up an eBay store full of sporting memorabilia donated by myself, my teammates and others.

People who know Quaddy would tell you that he is a champion bloke with a heart of gold. He played most of his footy out of Group 10 for Bathurst Panthers, Gulgong, St.Pats and Orange CYMS and has had a positive impact on many people’s lives.

Quaddy would always be the first one to help you out if you needed help and as such it is now time for us to be the ones to help him out.

My group of friends and I are just doing our best to help our beloved mate and his family through this tough time and would sincerely appreciate any kindness and generosity that you could afford him in this difficult period.

The auction will run for another 3-4 weeks depending on the amount of donated memorabilia so if you have anything that you would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated.

We are also having a very special auction where five Raiders players will come and provide pizza's and drinks and spend the afternoon or night with the highest bid. That auction will be up next week so keep your eyes out in the eBay store.
