Raiders name squad for second trial
Tuesday 12 February 2013 2:53 PM
The Canberra Raiders have named a 33 man squad for their second trial of the 2013 season, when they play NSW Cup teams Mounties and Wyong on Saturday night (February 16) at Cook Park in Mount Pritchard.
The second trial of the season for the Raiders will be against the two NSW Cup teams, as they play two 30 minute quarters against Wyong and two 30 minute quarters against Mounties.
Some positive news for the Raiders is the inclusion of Brett White for the trial, with the Raiders experienced prop set to make a return to the field for the first time since rupturing his ACL against the Cowboys in round five last season.
Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, Shaun Fensom and Matt Allwood will play their first games of the 2013 season, with Jake Foster, Reece Robinson, David Shillington and Blake Ferguson all backing up from the All-Stars match.
Jack Wighton and Joel Thompson will not play in the trial on Saturday, with Furner choosing to rest the pair following the All-Stars game last Saturday night.
Raiders centre Jarrod Croker is unavailable after undergoing minor knee surgery today on his right knee after sustaining an injury against the Melbourne Storm last Friday night in Geelong.
The arthroscopic surgery is not expected to keep Croker sidelined for an extended period and he’s expected to be available sometime between round one and three of the NRL season.
Terry Campese and Glen Buttriss remain unavailable through injury.
