Raiders support establishment of NRL integrity Unit

The Canberra Raiders have endorsed the NRL’s stance on supporting a far reaching investigation into doping and integrity issues in sport and the establishment of an NRL Integrity Unit.

The NRL today joined all major sports, the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA), the Australian Crime Commission, and the Federal Government in announcing the investigation.

Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner said the club fully supports the NRL’s decision to assist in any investigations which would provide information and assistance in these matters.

“There is no place for performance enhancing drugs within our sport and we intend to assist with the game wide investigation and provide any information which will assist in eradicating any of this type of behaviour in our sport,” Furner said. “We have no knowledge of anything existing in our club and we’re happy to cooperate with the NRL’s integrity unit once it’s established.”
