Coach Ricky Stuart spoke to the media after the club's first day of pre-season ahead of the 2015 NRL season.

The entire NRL squad bar Terry Campese, Josh Papalii and new recruit Josh Hodgson, were in attendance for a series of screening tests and medical examinations before training commences tomorrow.

Papalii and Hodgson will be absent due to their Four Nations commitments after the pair were once again selected for Australia and England respectively.

The Raiders agreed to grant Campese  an extra month off pre-season training following the request put forward by his management.

“As a result of the long season and the fact that Terry has only one year to go with the Raiders after ten years of service the Club has agreed to Terry’s request for a further month off pre-season training,” Campese’s manager Jim Banaghan said.

Raiders management was happy to accommodate Campese’s request given his contribution to the club over the past decade with CE0 Don Furner maintaining that the month of leave would not affect his contractual standing at the club.

“I can confirm that the Club has agreed to Terry Campese’s request for an extra month off pre-season training following his recent return from overseas,” Furner said.
