Star fullback Jack Wighton has been charged by the Match Review Committee following his tackle on Penrith Panthers five-eighth Jamie Soward in the 39th minute of last night's match at GIO Stadium.

Despite the tackle not being penalised during the game, Wighton has been charged with a Grade 2 High Tackle - Careless.

The base penalty for the charge is 125 points with an early guilty plea of 112 points.

Club management has elected to take the early guilty plea in relation to the charge meaning that Wighton will miss the last home game of the year on Sunday against the Parramatta Eels at Pirtek Stadium, and have 12 carry over points in 2016.
