The new Canberra Raiders Skipper had another memorable season for the Raiders and is establishing himself as a player who can look to break all records for the club.
For the second time in his NRL career, Croker took out the top point scoring award for the competition, scoring a mammoth 236 points for the season.
Croker’s combination on the left hand edge of the field with Edrick Lee saw the pair score 24 tries between them for the season (12 each), while his outstanding goal kicking contributed to several of the Raiders victories over the course of the season.
After missing selection in the past, Croker also had the opportunity to make his representative debut for Country Origin mid-season and impressed NSW selectors with a very solid display against City in Wagga Wagga.
One of the best kick chasers in the competition, Croker once again showed an uncanny ability to secure a loose ball close to the line, with a number of his 12 tries this season coming from a Raiders attacking kick. His defensive efforts continue to improve each week and this is an area he’s determined to improve again in 2016.
As a leader Croker is rapidly learning the highs and lows of being a Captain of an NRL team and has had some strong support from the likes of Sia Soliola, Shaun Fensom and David Shillington this season. In 2016 he aims to be more assertive on the field and put himself into a position of other strong leaders in the game.
Memorable Moment
Heading into the last round of the season Croker trailed Roosters five-eighth James Maloney in the point scoring race, with a no try ruling in the first half seemingly preventing him from achieving the milestone. But a second half try from a Kurt Baptiste cut-out pass gave brought him level with Maloney and he calmly slotted the conversion to surpass his total and become the leading point scorer in 2015.Statistics:
