Raiders stalwart David Shillington farewelled the club after the 2015 season, ahead of his move to the Gold Coast Titans. Shillington played 131 games for the Raiders across his seven years at the club.

A broken thumb and competition for spots delayed Shillington’s start to the 2015 season. Joining the Mounties on his return from injury Shillington showed his desperation to return to first grade, scoring a rare try when gifted an offload by Josh McCrone.

Shillington came back into the first grade team in Round 10, in a disappointing loss against the Dragons. Once established in the starting side Shillington never looked back and resumed his trademark damaging runs and ferocious tackling.

Despite playing only 15 matches in 2015, Shillington ranked second highest in offloads across the Raiders team. Shillington’s season highlight was his final home game in Canberra, a comprehensive win over the Panthers in front of a dedicated crowd that appreciated the service Shillington has provided over the years.

Shillington departs the Raiders for the Titans on a two year contract. Shillington has been an influential member of the Raiders squad throughout his seven seasons and his leadership and work ethic will continue to set an example at the Raiders for years to come. The Raiders wish to thank David for his contributions and wish him the best in his future career with the Titans.
