Sisa Waqa was the Raiders representative at the 2016 Dick Smith Auckland Nines jersey launch in Sydney today. Waqa unveiled the Raiders 2016 Auckland Nines jersey, with Austbrokers Canberra coming on board as the front of jersey sponsor.
Waqa enjoyed playing in the Auckland Nines tournament for the Raiders in 2015, scoring his first try in Raiders colours. Waqa has also played at the tournament previously for his former club, the Melbourne Storm.
Waqa expressed his desire to play in next years tournament which will be contested on February 6 and 7.
"Everyone is starting to talk about the Nines after getting into pre-season training and hopefully we will send a good side to compete" Waqa said.
"The Raiders have been sending young teams, but hopefully we send a decent side and win the Nines. I want to play in the Nines. It's a fun but really tough weekend of games".
