The Raiders squeezed into the Auckland Nines quarter-finals with a fighting 18-6 win over the Sharks. Needing a win by 12 points, the Raiders managed just that in a tense victory.

It was a tight first half with Kurt Baptiste opening the scoring with a clever run from dummyhalf. The Sharks hit straight back before some Jack Williams magic saw Zac Santo cross the line for his try in Raiders colours. A late attacking flurry went came to nothing as the Raiders went into the break 8-6 up.

The Raiders young stars clicked in the second half and managed to pile the pressure on Cronulla. Tries to Jordan Rapana and Jack Williams clinched the victory for the Raiders.

The Raiders will now take on the New Zealand Warriors in the quarter-finals at 3.05pm NZ and 1.05pm Canberra time. It will be the Raiders first finals appearance at the Auckland Nines!
