The Mounties take on the Wentworthville Magpies in a top of the table clash at Pirtek Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

A win against the Magpies will allow the Mounties to top the Intrust Super Premiership ladder.

Mounites Head Coach Steve Antonelli is eager for his side to test themselves against the Magpies who boast the best defensive record in the competition.

“They’re not on the top of the table for nothing. They’ve got a good side. They’ve got a lot [of players] back from Parramatta as well so they’re a strong outfit and [a good] test to see where we are at,” said Antonelli.

“[We need to] match them in our defense. Hopefully, we can get through our sets and work them out.”

Despite having the likes of Sam Williams and Adam Clydsdale joining the Mounties set up last week, Antonelli has no concerns about a lack of chemistry between players.

"They trained all off-season together so it’s no challenge there [with] combinations. Clydy’s [Clydsdale’s] first week back last week was good. He got better as the game went on and he’ll be better again this week.”

Antonelli is wary of Wentworthville’s halfback, Mitch Cornish, who played for the Mounties last season.

“He’s [the] link pin for them after they lost Luke Kelly last week,” said Antonelli. “[We’ll] take a few plays at him and see how he goes defensively.”

Kick-off for the match is at 12:40pm and can be watched either live at Pirtek Stadium or on Fox Sports channel 501. Live updates from the match will be on the Raiders Twitter @RaidersCanberra
