The Raiders NYC side travel to Pirtek Stadium on Saturday to take on Parramatta.

Both the Eels and the Raiders have three wins and two losses and are 7th and 8th on the ladder respectively.

Despite defeating the Bulldogs last week, NYC Head Coach, Brett White, lamented his side’s poor start.

“Again we didn’t start well. We’ve tried to change things up and do things differently but again our start wasn’t the way we want to start games,” said White.

However, the former Raiders prop was pleased with the character his side displayed.

“It was hard losing Kalani Going early in the first ten minutes. They boys again hung in tough throughout the game. From there on, they really stuck it out and luckily we came away with the two points.”

White is wary of Parramatta who have started the season well but suffered a heavy loss to Penrith last weekend.

“They started the season really strong and obviously with the result of last week, they’ll want to get back on track so it’s probably not the best time for us to get them with the short turn around and all that. We’ll just focus on ourselves…[and] our energy levels this week.”

The Eels went down 42-4 to a the Panthers last weekend, who currently sit atop the NYC ladder.

A positive to come from last week’s win was the return of fullback Thomas Cronan.

“He was good. He probably came back a little earlier than expected for us. I thought he went really well,” said White. “He came back from where he left off last year when he was at fullback. He hasn’t missed a beat so we’ll need the same from him this week.”

Kalani Going is out of the this week's Raiders team with a foot injury. He will be replaced by Taumutu Afemui-Nohotima, with Jarred Tuite moving into the starting team.

The Raiders v Eels game kicks off at 10:40am at Pirtek Stadium on Saturday and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Channel 501. Live updates from the game will also be posted on the Raiders Twitter account @RaidersCanberra
