And with another week comes redemption!

It sure is great to be back in the winner’s circle after a couple of frustrating weeks.

A Raiders win had been brewing and what better place to do it than against New Zealand, in New Zealand?

Not only was it a valuable two competition points, but it was good to get a win where we haven’t enjoyed a lot of recent success. Well done, boys!

While a look at the scoreboard would suggest the Raiders did it easy, it wasn’t the case for the entire 80 minutes.

The men in green spent a reasonable period in the first half defending their own line and they defended it well.

The Warriors struggled to make an impact and it clearly took a toll on their confidence.

The points scored by the Raiders were impressive, but it was their defence that set the win up.

After struggling to make early inroads, the Warriors went downhill and it was all Raiders. From defence came attack and the home side simply couldn’t keep up.

It’s exactly what the doctor ordered. If the mighty Raiders are to make a genuine tilt at this competition, that attitude will be important.

The best sides in the competition often defend their opposition out of the game in the early stages, so it was good to see our boys getting on the same page.

It wasn’t a perfect performance but it was one of the more complete Raiders performances of 2016. Good to see.

Our boys will need to build on that performance if they want another win this Sunday.

The Bulldogs will be fired up for a number of reasons, making it an easy pick for match of the round.

Much has been said about the quality of games affected by origin, but don’t expect to be disappointed by this one.

Both sides have been slightly affected by Origin, but more importantly, both sides had some notable omissions from the Origin sides.

Blake Austin and Josh Reynolds could consider themselves unlucky to go unpicked and have a point to prove.

It should be a good battle amongst the number 6’s, and both teams will be looking to rally around their men.

As always, the battle of the forwards, will also go a long way to determining the outcome. The team willing to get dirty and do the hard work will go a long way towards winning.

Other than that, the game will come down to patience and execution. Our boys showed a great deal of both last week and there’s no reason to doubt their chances this week.

So get yourself to GIO Stadium this Sunday and make your voices heard. It could make all the difference. Go Raiders!
