Queanbeyan Kangaroos have taken the outright lead on the Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup ladder after a convincing win over the Blues on Saturday.

In a stunning reversal of fortunes the Kangaroos have taken top spot on the Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup ladder after dispatching the Blues 27-12.

Still smarting after a 56-0 thrashing at the hands of the Blues in round two, the Kangaroos came out firing and raced out to a 18-0 half-time lead. 

The Blues mounted a comeback in the second half, scoring two quick tries after the break, but ultimately the Kangaroos were able to find answers for anything thrown at them.

Five-eighth Brent Crisp for influential for the Kangaroos as they recorded their eighth straight victory.

"We were still a bit scratchy, but always happy to get the two points and happy for the win," Crisp said.

"We still have a lot to work on still, as people would have seen today, but playing against the Blues they may say they have a lot to work on too.

"All our young kids are really standing up and proving they are first graders not just 18's."

Blues coach Simon Woolford conceded the Blues were disappointing after three weeks without a game. 

"The result was disappointing; our first 20 minutes was the disappointing thing," Woolford said.

"Teams just don't score tries that easy when we are on, and obviously not playing footy in the last month, it took us a while to get into the game.

"In the middle we worked pretty hard and as far as a physical battle goes we did really well, we just played dumb at times but we will be a lot better next week."

Woden Valley Rams 46 defeated Belconnen United Sharks 16

Woden Valley Rams ran riot on Saturday as they smashed the Belconnen United Sharks 46-16.

Backrower Michael Gilmour starred for the Rams, scoring three tries and causing all sorts of trouble for the Sharks in the middle of the park. 

The win keeps the Rams in touch with the top four while the Sharks are languishing near the bottom of the table. 

West Belconnen Warriors 17 defeated Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 16

The Warriors survived an almighty scare in defeating the Bulldogs by a solitary point.

A last minute try to Aidan Greenwood pushed the Warriors into the lead and broke the hearts of the shattered Bulldogs, who remain rooted to the bottom on the ladder.

Warriors coach Troy Thompson was happy to take the two points away from the contest. 

"I can't be angry with the boys, the effort is there but we put ourselves under a lot of pressure," said Thompson.

"We're not playing to structures ... we need to be better. [Roberts] is a really smart footballer, he plays off the cuff a bit.

"He wasn't at his best, but he still managed to pull something out of his [back pocket] to win the game for us."

The finish was cruel for Bulldogs coach Mick Picker but he was pleased with the effort the team showed.

"That's our goal now, to try to shake a bit of the top end up and be a bit of a pain to them," said Picker. 

"We've been saying that one win will get our confidence back, but we're in a rut at the moment and can't get out.

"We're a lot better than what we look on the ladder. We're not too worried about everyone else's opinion this year, it was always going to be a rebuilding period."

Gungahlin Bulls 28 defeated Tuggeranong Bushrangers 18

The Bulls have solidified their spot in the top four with a hard-fought victory over the Bushrangers. 

The five tries to three performance continued a disappointing last month for the Bushrangers, who have now lost four in a row. 

Sitting in fourth place on the ladder, the Bulls will have a golden chance to move higher when they take on the Blues next weekend.
