Best Match of the Season

Semi-Final | Raiders 22 defeated Panthers 12

Soliola came out firing in the Raiders semi-final against the Panthers, making several big charges and creating second phase play that helped the Raiders get on top early. On the field for 44 minutes, Soliola ran for 98 metres and tallied 27 tackles.

Summary

Sia Soliola was once again one of the Raiders best in 2016, making a huge impact with his leadership on and off the field.

The Raiders 2015 Meninga Medalist, Soliola suffered a setback early in the season when he broke his arm against the Bulldogs in Round Five.

It was against the Bulldogs in Round 12 when Soliola returned to action, turning in an epic performance that included scoring the match-winning try for the green machine.

While his statistics were slightly down on 2015, Soliola provided a huge boost for the Raiders with his on-field leadership and big-game experience. The leadership he provides will be key again in 2017 with the Raiders youthful forward pack shaping up as the one of the NRL's best.

Raiders fans were delighted at the news Soliola extended his contract at the club midway through the season, signing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Raiders until the end of 2018.

Off the field Soliola was heavily involved in the community, and was rewarded by winning the Raiders Clubman of the Year award and being announced as a finalist for the NRL Ken Stephen Medal.
