The Canberra Raiders’ junior representative sides produced a mixed bag of results on the weekend, the SG Ball Cup and Tarsha Gale Cup sides going down while the Harold Matthews Cup outfit recorded a win.

SG Ball Cup

Canterbury-Bankstown 38 (T Katoa 2, T Talau 2, B Wakeham 1, S Talivakaola 1, J Averillo 1 tries; B Wakeham 4, J Averillo 1 goals) def Canberra 10 (D Caulton 1, J Dent 1 tries; A Tawha 1 goal)

The Bulldogs’ SG Ball outfit turned in an dominant performance against the Raiders, crossing for seven tries to overcome Canberra 38-10 at Belmore Sports Ground on Sunday.

The Raiders proved much more competitive in the opening half, heading into the sheds trailing 6-0.

Harold Matthews Cup

Canterbury-Bankstown 10 (J Topine 2 tries; G M Serratore 1 goal) def by Canberra 20 (Jack Williams 2, J Church 1, Jordan Williams 1 tries; J Tupou 2 goals)

The Raiders’ Harold Matthews Cup side clinched its third successive win, overpowering the Bulldogs 20-10 at Belmore Sports Ground on Sunday.

The visitors shot out of the blocks to register all 20 points in the first half.

Tarsha Gale Cup

Canberra 14 (M Bullock 1, J Teivonen 1, S Cross tries; M Bullock 1 goal) def by Cronulla 56 (T Preston 3, E Hazelton 1, M Beames 1, O Quinn 1, A Kelly 1, Q Dodd 1, S Buller 1, A Veikoso 1 tries; T Preston 2, Q Dodd, 2, A Kelly 2, T Holmes 1, S Buller 1 goals).

The Raiders’ Tarsha Gale Cup outfit endured a tough outing against the Bulldogs, losing 56-14 at Northbourne Oval on Saturday.

The hosts’ second half showed much more promise than the first, Canberra keeping the Bulldogs to zero points in the second stanza.
