The Canberra Raiders secured a crucial win on the weekend when they scored a late try to come out as 24-16 winners over the Sydney Roosters at GIO Stadium.

On the back of their win against the Parramatta Eels in Sydney last weekend the Raiders had to work hard for the win agianst a depleted but determined Roosters outfit.

The Green machine edged their opponents in the possesion stakes with 54% of the ball. Canberra made good use with the ball in hand with an 81% completion rate.

The missed tackles count doesn't make for good viewing if you're a Sydney Roosters fan with the visiors having a total of 53 compared to the Raiders 25.

Jordan Rapana was electric yesterday with two tries and line breaks respectively. The winger managed 169 metres off 17 runs.

Jack Wighton was instrumental after signing a new deal with the club earlier in the week, clocking up 192 metres in just 16 runs.

Leading the tackle count for the Raiders was Elliot Whitehead with 41 in total. Shannon Boyd was next with 34 whilst also completing 15 runs for 140 metres.
