There were some spectacular tries and plenty of close matches in Round 10 of the Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup.

Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 26 (Tries: Z Hart 2, N Cornish, P Cooke, T Cornish; Goals: B Hewitt 3) d Woden Valley Rams 16 (Tries: L Murphy, M Geiger, C McGhie; Goals: C Johnson 2)

Intent on making amends for their one-point defeat earlier in the season, the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs beat the Woden Valley Rams 26-16 at Phillip Enclosed Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs shot out of the blocks thanks to two early tries to Nick Cornish and Zach Hart despite seeing less of the ball in the opening exchanges.

Woden managed to fight back through Liam Murphy who grounded the ball after a Dominic Stephens fumble allowed the Woden centre to score, but Hart scored another try before halftime to give Goulburn a 12 point cushion.

Woden was valiant in the opening 20 minutes of the second half when Michael Geiger ran the length of the field to score a try before Cleve McGhie added another try to lower the margin to points.

However, Goulburn struck back with two tries at the end of the match with Pat Cooke and Tyler Cornish crossing the try line to secure the win.

The win sees Goulburn sit in fifth place, only outside of the top four on for and against, while Woden slide to eighth.

The Bushrangers hit back when Jayden Pollard crossed the try line on the back of some impressive work from the Tuggeranong forwards.

The Kangaroos hit back after halftime with two simple tries before Quinlyn Cannon started and finished an excellent try for the Bushrangers.

However, the Kangaroos were relentless and scored two more tries with Simbiken scoring the final try as he jumped high to catch a well-placed Aaron Gorrell kick.

The win sees the Kangaroos remain in second place while the loss sees Tuggeranong drop out of the top four and move down to sixth place.

The Blues scored back to back tries as they were willing to throw the ball around from each side of the field.

The Blues outside backs continued to dominate, but the Sharks managed to late consolation tries thanks to Sonny Tupuola and BJ Sione.

West Belconnen Warriors 18 (Tries: S Finnegan, R Fulivai, A Greenwood; Goals: R Roberts 3) d Gungahlin Bulls 16 (Tries: R O’Sullivan, H Smith-Shields, D Williams; Goals: D Keir 2)

The Warriors claimed a late win against the Gungahlin Bulls thanks to the booty of last year’s Les McIntyre Medalist, Bobby Roberts.

Having lost the corresponding match earlier in the season, the signs weren’t good for the Warriors when the Gungahlin Bulls scored thanks to some dazzling footwork from Harley Smith-Shields.

The Bulls pulled further ahead when David Williams gathered a stray pass to score before running the length of the field to score.

The defending premiers hit back when Sam Finnegan showed good awareness from dummy half to score, but Gungahlin hit back with a try to Rourke O’Sullivan.

A towering kick from Bobby Roberts was met by Ricky Fulivai to give the Warriors hope once more before Aidan Greenwood was able to ground a grubber to bring the scores level.

A late penalty secured the comeback for the Warriors and launched the Warriors to fourth of the ladder, while the Bulls drop to seventh place.
