The Raiders loss to the Panthers was heartbreaking and a tough one to take. Ultimately the whole team would’ve liked to come out and hit back the next week.

However, for the second time this season the Raiders had a bye after a frustrating loss. Now after a two-week break heading towards the Broncos game at GIO Stadium, Junior Paulo says the team are well refreshed after the time off.

“Everyone including myself just had to get away from footy for a bit after a few tough weeks but now we’re roaring and ready to go. Paulo says he’s happy to be home and back at GIO Stadium.

The Raiders will get Shannon Boyd back in their team this weekend when they play the Broncos.

According to Paulo getting Boyd back will be a huge boost to the team and Shannon will be a big help to the boys in the middle of the park.

Paulo also spoke on their upcoming opponents in the Broncos. He said, “It doesn’t matter about Milford being injured because the Broncos fill the void and always turn up for the game”.

Junior Paulo was asked if the squad is lacking confidence after some recent slim losses. “We’re still confident in ourselves and our abilities and although it’s a while away we still believe we can play finals football” Paulo stated.

When questioned if the team will ever get too confident Paulo said “We always back ourselves going into a game but we have to be confident, you can’t just shut up shop after a loss”.

If one thing has been made clear by Ricky Stuart this week it is that the Raiders will start to see wins come their way if they just stick to their game and keep believing. Paulo added to this saying “When we have lost it hasn’t been by a lot, we’re really just lacking a bit of luck”.

The Raiders have been on the bad side of the scoreboard a few times this year so this weekend against the Broncos they will be fired up and out to show that actions speak louder than words.
