The Raiders will be back at home this Saturday when they take on the North Queensland Cowboys in round 17 of the NYC Holden cup.

Canberra are coming off a disappointing 34-20 point loss to the Broncos last weekend in what was an end to end game of footy. The Raiders led 20-14 in the early stages of the second  half but failed to grind out the win.

Just like first grade, the Raiders are looking to break a three match losing streak, a streak that started at Brookvale oval about a month ago.

The Cowboys are coming off a six point win over the Panthers in a game which saw them trailing by 6 with twenty go before a Michael Carroll try levelled the game. Duarne Dempsey scored the match winning try with 17 minutes to go to put the Cowboys into 4th on the NYC ladder.

This weekend the Raiders will welcome back their starting full back Harry Van Dartel and also Origin representative Sebastian Kris. New signing Erin Clark will be starting at hooker in his second game for the Raiders, having recently travelled over the Tasman Sea from New Zealand.

Depending on other results a win for Canberra could propel them to as high as 9th on the ladder and just one win outside the top eight as they currently sit in 13th. A win is crucial for both teams and the difference on the ladder between 4th and 13th is only 6 points. With plenty of teams vying for a finals spot, everything is on the line this Saturday at GIO Stadium.

The game kicks off at 5:15 on Saturday Afternoon at GIO Stadium. Keep an eye on the Raiders twitter account for live match updates.
