The Canberra Raiders U20s are set to play their last NYC game ever against the Melbourne Storm on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday morning.

The youth competition is set to become a thing of the past and the Intrust Super Premiership NSW will take on an U20s division next season.

The Raiders sit in 12th on the ladder and will miss finals footy but will travel north with all intentions of snapping a two-game losing run at Kawana Field 1.

It was the eldest son of Knights great Matthew Johns, gun 19-year-old playmaker Jack, who slotted a last-gasp field goal to hand his side a 21-20 win over the Raiders last weekend.

Canberra will head into its clash with Melbourne after making a number of changes to the side that lost narrowly to Newcastle.

Andre Niko will play fullback while Paul Roache will return to halfback in place of Erin Clark, who is set to feature for the Mounties in their qualifying final this weekend.

Lock Hudson Young will take over captaincy duties in the absence of Clark as the Raiders look to pick the lock on a Storm side sitting in 13th.

It was Melbourne who took the chocolates when the two sides last met, the Victorians running away 36-24 victors in Canberra in Round 20.

The winner of Sunday’s clash will leapfrog the other but neither side can play finals footy in 2017.
