Joey Leilua scored some spectacular tries in 2017 as he displayed how dangerous he can be running at the opposition defensive line.

The young Centre was strong for the Raiders in their first round match against the Cowboys in Townsville where he scored two tries.

The Samoan international continued his impressive form which led to speculation that he may receive a call up to the Australian side for the Kangaroos ANZAC Test against the Kiwis.

Leilua scored four tries in three games from rounds five to seven including a brace against the New Zealand Warriors at GIO Stadium.

Leilua notched up a personal milestone in 2017 when he made his 150th NRL appearance, scoring a try in the Raiders comprehensive 42-16 win over the Titans at CBUS Super Stadium.

Overall in 2017 finished with 10 tries including seven try assists whilst making 32 offloads with an average of over 105 running metres per game.

A big year awaits the exciting young centre in 2018.
