Aidan Sezer played in every match for the Canberra Raiders in 2017.

The Raiders halfback was a solid member throughout the campaign and was entrusted with the goal kicking duties for the first two rounds against the Cowboys and Sharks for injured captain Jarrod Croker as he recovered from a slight knee injury.

Sezer contributed with eight try assists for the campaign including four tries for himself.

Most notably, Sezer’s finest game for the green machine in 2017 was in their rd 19 golden point victory against the St George Illawarra Dragons at GIO Stadium. With the Raiders under immense pressure Sezer intercepted a pass from Gareth Widdop to race through and draw the Raiders level with a try under the posts.

Incredibly, Sezer produced a play that ultimately won the game for the Raiders. On the 4th tackle after a strong run from Jack Wighton, Sezer stepped onto his left foot and produced a huge 40/20 to give the green machine another set deep into the Dragons defensive half. Dave Taylor ran straight at the line to offload for Elliott Whitehead who scored just to the right of the posts to send the home crowd into raptures.

In total, Sezer produced over 3629 kick metres. He also averaged 80 kick return metres while producing 13 offloads and kicking 12 goals.
