The Canberra Raiders have announced the signing of former Bulldogs Hooker Craig Garvey on a one-year deal for the 2018 season.
Garvey made his NRL debut in 2013 for the Dragons before moving to the Bulldogs in 2016. He has played a total of 23 NRL matches and has also represented NSW at under 20s level and the Indigenous All-Stars in 2016.
Garvey’s arrival in Canberra coincides with the club releasing both Adam Clydsdale and Erin Clark.
Raiders NRL Recruitment & High-Performance Manager Peter Mulholland said the signing of Garvey gives the squad some depth in the hooker position after the release of the Clydsdale and Clark.
“Craig is a talented hooker who at 24 years of age is still learning and developing as a player who we believe can be a valuable addition to our squad in 2018,” Mulholland said. “Adam Clydsdale has decided to retire from rugby league to pursue a career with his family business and we wish him all the best for the future.
“Erin Clark has also been granted a release from the remainder of his contract with the club, so having Craig in our squad gives us some stability in the squad.
