NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round Seven Wrap

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side travelled away on the weekend to secure the win over the Melbourne Storm. Meanwhile, the NSW Cup side suffered a defeat to North Sydney on Sunday afternoon.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg returned to the winner circle this past weekend,
securing the 24-16 win over the Melbourne Storm.

The Raiders started strong, holding a 12-6 lead at halftime.

Raiders five-eighth Jaxen Yow and Shaun Packer came out firing in the second
half, both reaching the tryline to secure the win over the Melbourne Storm 24-16.

Canberra now sit outright first on the ladder, with a 5-1 record after round seven
of the competition.

The team look ahead to have the advantage over the Sharks, when they host
Cronulla this Sunday at GIO Stadium.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side were defeated 20-12 by the Bears at North Sydney
Oval on Sunday afternoon.

Raiders second rower Luke Webley and Mitchell Spencer started strong, both
reaching the tryline to lead 12-0.

The Bears hit back, with a pair of tries and a penalty goal to lead 14-12 at
halftime.

North Sydney winger Allan Fitzgibbon secured his double early in the second
half, to help his side to a 20-12 victory over the Raiders.

The Raiders will be determined to bounce back against the Newtown Jets, this
Sunday at GIO Stadium.
