Forever Green

Since 1982 the Canberra Raiders have strived to improve the health, wellbeing and social connections of our supporters and wider ‘Raiders Community’.

Knowingly and unknowingly, the primary advocates of this pledge have been our First Grade Representatives (i.e. ‘Forever Green’ Members) who through their on and off field individual actions and team performances have entertained, educated and more often than not inspired generations.

In similar fashion, Past Players are invited back to the Club for one game annually to provide inspiration and wisdom to current representatives. The ‘Forever Green’ concept will highlight the Club’s ‘Family’ mentality and both solidify and enhance the Green Machine’s strong Club Culture.

If you’ve played First Grade for the Canberra Raiders we want to make sure we have your contacts to invite you to future Forever Green Events. Please contact us at with your Name, Address, phone number and email so we can ensure you’re invited.

Forever Green

2017 Forever Green event.

Over 300 people, including past and present players, spent the day together at the Raiders v Eels match on 1 April 2017 for the second instalment of the Club’s Annual Forever Green Reunion.

The returning players were able to experience the Viking Clap whilst lining the tunnel for the current team run on and Jay Hoffman Raider #6 received the honour of calling the players onto the field by blowing the Viking Horn in what now has become the standard ceremonial component of a Raiders Match Day.

Raider #6 Jay Hoffman had the honour of being the Viking Ambassador and blowing the Viking horn at the Forever green match in 2017. Click Here to see the full list of Forever Green Raiders.

The Forever Green Function post-game allowed the current NRL Squad and Forever Green Players to come together and discuss the past and present as a Raiders player. Click Here to see the Gallery of the event.

2016 Forever Green Event

The inaugural Forever Green Event was held at GIO Stadium for the Raiders v Tigers match in 2016. That night the Green Machine did the Forever Green players a huge justice with a 60-6 thrashing of the Wests Tigers.
