Raiders captain Jarrod Croker continues to take his game to new heights. At just 26 years of age, Croker smashed two huge Raiders records in 2016 and also collected the Dally M captain of the year and Provan-Summons fans choice player of the year awards.

Croker amassed 296 points in 2016 to top the NRL's point-scoring tally for a third time. He would have likely broken 300 points for the season, had it not been for a knee injury in the early stages of the Raiders preliminary final against the Storm.

The knee injury forced Croker to miss the end of the season Four Nations tournament, after being selected in the Kangaroos train-on squad.

Critics previously took aim at Croker's defence as his major fragility, but in 2016 he was one of the most well-rounded centres in the league.

A strong start to 2017 will have Croker primed for a shot at a NSW Blues jersey, with competition for the spot likely to come from his teammate Joey Leilua.

The leadership Croker displayed in 2016 was a key factor in the Raiders success, and going into his third year as captain, expect another big year from the Raiders ace.
