Do you like Rugby League?
Would you like to support the Canberra Raiders and have a good time with other supporters?
The Meningans, named after the great Mal, bring together people who support the Canberra Raiders to socialise and to assist Raiders players who might wish to undertake studies or career training in Canberra.
The Meningans have a close relationship with the Raiders which has advantages for both parties. The Meningans raise money for scholarships for young players to encourage them to continue their education or career training so that they have a secure "life after football".
The Raiders take the view that players will perform better on and off the field if they have an integrated approach to life.
We hold lunches about once a month during the footy season. These are usually held on the Friday before a home game at Canberra Stadium, at the Tradies club in Dickson. The lunch costs $20 and we also ask people to put a small donation in the "boot".
The Raiders provide a guest speaker, either one (or more) of the players, a 'backroom' person or an official. The speaker gives a short address and is happy to answer any questions.
