Raiders star Josh Papalii has come through Game 1 of the 2014 State of Origin series unscathed by injury and will be available to take on the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Papalii was outstanding in defence for the Maroons making 23 bruising tackles after entering the fray from the interchange bench.

Although he was disappointed to have lost the opening match of the series, Papalii says he has focused on the upcoming clash with the defending premiers.

"I'm pretty disappointed that we went down last night," Papalii said. "It was a very tough game, one of the toughest that I've been involved in but although I'm a little sore at the moment I'll be right to play against the Roosters.

"I'm really looking forward to playing the Roosters, they're a tough team and we will need a big effort from everybody.

"The boys had a good win over the Cowboys last weekend but now we need to repeat that effort this weekend because we haven't had back-to-back wins so far this year."
