NRL Development Officer Adam Kyle spoke to Raiders TV at the conclusion of the Rauter (years 7 & 8) and Clyde (years 9 & 10) Shields. Stay tuned until the end to see some of the highlights from the day.

The Rauter and Clyde Shields are generously run by the Canberra Raiders on behalf of ACT School Sport and are events that are enjoyed year in, year out by students within the Canberra region.

"We have run these competition's for a really long time in conjunction with the NRL and the Raiders," Kyle said.

"We've had 30 teams competing over the course of the last fortnight and the finals today were a really high class affair filled with a lot of enjoyment from the kids, some of which have never played the game before."

The theme of the NRL this week is "Play NRL" and it was wonderful to see that www.playnrl.com.au assisted by sponsoring the event.

"Whilst a lot of the kids that competed already play rugby league on the weekend, we're trying to encourage those that do not to sign up to their local club as either a player, coach or referee and enjoy the greatest game of all."
