2016 season draws for both the Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball have now been released. Both of Canberra Raiders teams will play nine matches across the season, with five games each at home ground Seiffert Oval, Queanbeyan.
The Canberra Raiders Under 16’s Harold Matthews Cup squad finished 2015 in ninth place on the ladder, with three wins, three losses and one draw. They will have a similar aim to the Raiders first grade team in 2016, secure a top eight finish and play finals football.
The Raiders Under 18’s SG Ball side produced a very successful 2015 campaign, finishing the regular season undefeated with a draw the only blemish. The team suffered a season-ending, close loss in the semi-finals to eventual premiers, Cronulla Sharks.
The Canberra Raiders have a rich history of player development, with many current star players coming through the Harold Matthews and SG Ball squads.
