Students from Junee High School in country NSW were thrilled to tour Raiders HQ as part of a trip to Canberra that also involved watching the Raiders v Storm match.

Anthony Stokes, PDHPE teacher at Junee High School, provided the following feedback on the visit:

"Thank you for organizing such a wonderful experience for our students. They were blown away by the Raider HQ tour and the game day experience was certainly the highlight of the trip.

Please pass our thanks onto Jason for conducting the tour, both staff and students benefited immensely from this experience.

The students now have an understanding of the workings of a professional sporting organisation and have commented on how much more it takes to reach an elite level than just being able to play rugby league well.

The tour also aided the staff present and it is one of the best pieces of professional learning I have experienced. Listening to Jason describe what it means to be a Raider had so many direct links to what we try and accomplish with our students, getting them to buy into what and who we are.

We have already made some changes to our school that were inspired by the Raiders HQ visit, we have set up a photo wall that is changed regularly to immediately acknowledge the successes of our students and we are looking at the language we use to strengthen our students understanding of what it means to be a member of our team - Junee High School.

We are certainly taking the strategies that develop ownership and accountability that we witnessed at Raiders HQ and applying it to our organisation.

The match day experience was fantastic and the students selected this as their highlight of the trip. We were fortunate enough to get photos taken with Edrick Lee and the students were so excited to meet him. Our seats were unbelievable and the crowd of 15,000 really provided a sensational atmosphere.

We are currently looking at running this excursion every two years and we would really like to make the Raiders a large part of the focus of this excursion.

It was an unbelievable opportunity and we thank all Staff at Raiders HQ for you assistance in organizing such a great experience and I have no doubt that more Raiders fans have been created because of it."
