The Raiders season opening clash against the Cowboys poses a lot of team selection questions, with a couple of mainstays of the squad out through injury or suspension.

The makeup of the team remains a mystery to us here at raiders.com.au, but we've explored some of questions and possibilties that will need to be answered tomorrow (Tuesday) at 4pm when the Raiders team for Saturday's match is named.

Turner or Cotric? Or someone else?

Youth or experience? That's the biggest decision ahead of Saturday's match. Jarrod Croker's injury and Edrick Lee's departure leaves the Raiders left-edge needing some fresh faces.

Jordan Turner and Nick Cotric shape as the front-runners for the centre position, while Cotric, Zac Santo and Eddie Aiono can all play on the wing.

Jack Wighton could also possibly make a shift from fullback to centre, with Santo coming in at fullback, but Ricky has ruled that move out in the past.

Impressive Papua New Guinean winger Kato Ottio would be an obvious choice to take Lee's wing spot, but he is still currently recovering from an ACL injury.

Hodgo for 80?

With Kurt Baptiste out injured, Ricky has to decision to make regarding his bench hooker spot. Specialist hooker Adam Clydsdale is the obvious choice to take over Baptiste's spot, but Turner could also earn a spot on the bench for his utility value.

Who gets the nod in the forwards?

Elliott Whitehead, Josh Papalii, Shannon Boyd, Sia Soliola, Joseph Tapine and Luke Bateman all appear locks for positions in the Raiders forward pack on Saturday, but that still leaves two spots open with Junior Paulo suspended.

Jeff Lima, Clay Priest, Dunamis Lui, Scott Sorensen and Makahesi Makatoa are all candidates to earn a spot on the bench or starting front-row.

Pick who you think should be in the 17 below.
