The Canberra Raiders’ Harold Matthews Cup and Tarsha Gale Cup sides have both emerged victorious in their respective qualifying finals on Saturday, setting the stage for two thrilling semi-final encounters.

Harold Matthews Cup

Canberra 30 (J Williams, J Church, R Longhurst, N Hall, J Tupou, C Cooper tries; J Tupou 3 goals) def South-Sydney 16 (C Patolo-Vitale, Z Kambos, Z Bitar tries; K Savage 2 goals)

The Raiders’ Harold Matthews Cup outfit ran riot in the second half to record a comprehensive 30-16 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Belmore Sports Ground.

Having headed into half-time trailing 16-10, the Raiders kept the opposition to zero points in the second stanza and ran in four of their win en route to their 14-point win.

The victory has set up a semi-final showdown with the Cronulla Sharks to be played at the same venue this Saturday afternoon, a clash in which the Raiders will eye a spot in a preliminary final.

Tarsha Gale Cup

Canberra 30 (S Cross 2, H Machell 2, J Teivonen 2, N Ngan-Woo tries; N Ngan-Woo goal) def South-Sydney 18 (K Dymock, T Allchin, M Kilisimasi, K Mathes tries; M Kilisimasi goal)

The Raiders’ Tarsha Gale Cup side also tuned in a dominant position to overpower South Sydney 30-18 at Belmore Sports Ground

The victory has set the stage for a semi-final clash with the Sharks to be played at the same venue this Saturday afternoon.

The Canberra girls will be hunting another tally for the wins column to proceed to a preliminary final.
