Blake Austin has played down the hype as the Raiders five-eighth gets ready to make his 100th first grade appearance this weekend.

"I'm really proud of where i've got myself to and where I have come from," Austin said.

"I don't take my career for granted, it wasn't too long ago where I was at the Tigers screaming for an opportunity and Im glad I got that chance with Canberra."

The Raiders five-eighth is under no illusions of the task the green machine face on Friday night when they come up against the Newcastle Knights.

"The Knights have been in some good form lately and have only lost to the Storm recently so it will be a tough test."

"We're going to have to make sure we're switched on and play some good footy."
