NYC fullback Harry Van Dartel received the career and education award at the Meninga Medal awards night.
Working as a teacher's aide in Wanniassa, Van Dartel admits he really enjoys balancing work, University studies and Rugby League.
"I really enjoy going to work and having that balance with football," Van Dartel said.
"It's obviously very important to have a backup career and something to fall back on once your playing days are finished."
