The Canberra Raiders have announced Andrew McFadden as Assistant Coach for the next two seasons.
McFadden returns to Canberra after six seasons with the New Zealand Warriors, which included two and a half years as their Head Coach from Mid 2014- End 2016. McFadden has been Assistant Coach to Stephen Kearney since 2017.
After playing 76 matches for the Green Machine from 1997-2001, McFadden began his Coaching career in Canberra in 2005 as Coach of the Jersey Flegg Team (Under 20's), before taking control of the clubs Premier League Team (reserve grade) in 2006.
He then spent two seasons in France as an Assistant Coach for the Les Catalans Dragons from 2007-2008, before he was appointed Raiders Toyota Cup Coach (under 20s) in 2009. McFadden was then promoted to Raiders Assistant Coach under David Furner, before departing for the Warriors at the end of the 2012 season.
Raiders CEO Don Furner said the club was delighted to have McFadden return to the club to join the clubs Coaching staff.
"Andrew is a very qualified Coach who has had experience as an NRL Head Coach in New Zealand," Furner said. "We are looking forward to him returning to the club and working with Ricky Stuart, Brett White and the playing group."
McFadden replaces Mick Crawley on the Raiders Coaching staff after he departed the club at the end of the season.
