The Canberra Museum and Gallery will hold a special exhibition early in 2022, to help celebrate the Raiders 40th anniversary.
The exhibition titled Canberra Raiders: 40 years in the Limelight, will showcase the club’s history on the field, together with the significant contribution the Raiders have made to the community over the past 40 years.
Raiders CEO Don Furner said the exhibition will feature some pivotal moments in the club’s history, together with some significant achievements both on and off the field.
“In 2022 the club will be celebrating 40 years and this exhibition will be the perfect way for us to commence these celebrations,” Furner said. “The Raiders are synonymous with Canberra and the surrounding regions and we look forward to the exhibition and thank CMAG for the opportunity for us to showcase our history.”
Senior Curator for CMAG, Sharon Bulkeley, said the exhibition would be a chance to celebrate the history of the Raiders and showcase some of the club’s most important achievements on the field and in the community.
“CMAG is thrilled to be curating an exhibition on the Raiders – a club that has given so much to the Canberra community and means so much to them in return,” Ms Bulkeley said. “Fans will love discovering the hidden stories of the club and new recruits can learn why the ‘green machine’ garners such strong loyalty and pride – it will be a show for everyone.”
