Rolling Raiders Make Country Representative Sides

This weekend on the Central Coast, seven representatives from Canberra Region Wheelchair Rugby League will represent our region as part of Country v City Representative weekend.

This Saturday 14th May the Central Coast Niagara Park Stadium will host both a curtain raiser Development Country v City match, followed by the representative Country v City match as the main game.

Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL) are proud to congratulate the following three athletes on making the 2022 Country Representative side:

Chris O’Brien
Toby Popple
Zac Carl

On top of this, CRRL would like to also congratulate the following five of our athletes, with two playing in both sides, who have been selected in the curtain raider 2022 County Development side:

Luke Patterson
Amanda Carlyon
Brad Burns
Zac Carl
Toby Popple

Our congratulations also extend to Kale Popple for being appointed as a referee for both fixtures on the weekend.

The schedule for this weekend's game starts with the curtain raiser Country Development v City Development at 2:30pm, with the Country v City match starting at 4:00pm.

These Country v City representative matches are a great opportunity to showcase the skill of our athletes. The NSW State of Origin team will be selected from the athletes participating in these Country v City games.

The Canberra Region athletes have all been part of our Rolling Raiders representative team that have played competitively in exhibition matches previously and are also part of our local Canberra region competition days. Our next competition day in Canberra is on this weekend at the Tuggeranong Indoor Archery Centre, starting from 10am – 11:30pm.

If you are interested in trying out Wheelchair Rugby League, please come along on Sunday morning to have a roll around with the team. Wheelchair rugby league can be played by all people of all genders, ages and abilities – for non-regular wheelchair users and regular wheelchair users.

If you have any further questions about our game for all or about our competition days, please send your enquiry to crrl@raiders.com.au or please call on 02 6253 3515.
