Congratulations to Mitch Souter of the Woden Valley Rams for his selection at hooker in the 2023 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.

Souter is a top-class hooker and had an impressive season in the CRC upon returning to his junior club, the Woden Valley Rams.

Souter has been in the Canberra Raiders system since the age of 16 and made his NSW Cup debut against the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles in April 2022. He has since gone on to score two tries in his 16 appearances.

Six of those appearances were at the beginning of the 2023 season, before he slipped on a Rams jersey again in round four of the competition.

Mitch added plenty of attacking flare and defensive security for Woden this season.

His high energy and work rate coupled with his great pass selection, deception, strong running game, and tackling ability made him a central aspect of the Rams’ game.

Souter scored seven tries in 13 games to wrap up his season in the Canberra Raiders Cup.

His playing ability didn’t go unnoticed, as Mitch relocates overseas after signing a contract with the Braford Bulls who compete in Britain’s RFL Championship.

The CRRL extends their best wishes to Souter in his future career endeavours and looks forward to observing his journey from a far.
