Canberra Raiders Cup: Round 16 Wrap

Round 16 of the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup saw blockbuster matchups as the top four starts to take shape with three rounds remaining. 

Tuggeranong Bushrangers 34 def. Queanbeyan Blues 32 

The Tuggeranong Bushrangers travelled to Seiffert Oval on Saturday afternoon and claimed a tight two-point victory in a free flowing, attacking contest. 

After trailing 22-10 at the break, three tries in a fifteen-minute period saw the visitors take the lead, with Bushrangers captain Darby Medlyn leading from the front in the comeback. 

The win for the Bushrangers sees them cement their position in fourth spot, with the side from Tuggeranong securing their eighth consecutive victory. 

Meanwhile, the loss for the Blues is their second straight and as a result they have dropped to second position on the Canberra Raiders Cup ladder. 

Connor Williams continued his impressive try scoring record for Queanbeyan adding a further two tries to his 2025 tally, which now sits at 16 with three rounds remaining. 

The Queanbeyan Blues will be looking to bounce back next weekend as they welcome the Woden Valley Rams to Seiffert Oval, whilst the Bushrangers return home to face Goulburn. 

Queanbeyan Kangaroos 34 def. Belconnen United Sharks 8 

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos bounced back after last week's defeat and claimed a strong victory against the Belconnen United Sharks at home. 

The forwards of the Kangaroos led from the front, with four of their six tries courtesy of their pack, resulting in Queanbeyan returning to the top of the table. 

Meanwhile, the loss for the Sharks sees them remain in eighth position, George Wood and Sonny Tupuola crossing for their only two tries of the afternoon. 

The Kangaroos will be striving to maintain their spot at the top of the table next weekend against the West Belconnen Warriors, while the Sharks welcome the Yass Magpies to NSWRL HQ Bruce. 

Woden Valley Rams 40 def. Gungahlin Bulls 14 

The Woden Valley Rams secured an important win in their final's aspirations against the Gungahlin Bulls at Phillip Oval. 

In a matchup which was critical for both sides' finals chances, it was the Rams attacking flair which proved the difference as they crossed the forty-point mark for the second straight week. 

Whilst, for the Bulls the loss ends their 2025 finals aspirations as they have two games remaining and sit three wins off fourth position. 

The Rams will look to continue their push towards the finals against the Queanbeyan Blues at Seiffert Oval next Saturday, whilst the Bulls will have the week off with the bye. 

West Belconnen Warriors 14 def. Goulburn City Bulldogs 8 

The West Belconnen Warriors collected an important two competition points against the Goulburn City Bulldogs at Workers Arena. 

The Warriors travelled to Goulburn on the back of three straight defeats and needed to overturn the recent run of the results in the run to the finals. 

Warriors' halfback Calab Edwards continued his impressive 2025 form crossing for a try in the victory. 

Meanwhile, for the Bulldogs the loss is their first in three weeks, Rusty Bristow crossed for the home side's only try of the afternoon. 

Goulburn City travel to Greenway Oval to face the hottest team in the competition in the Bushrangers, while the Warriors face the Kangaroos in Queanbeyan.
