Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 17 Preview

With the Katrina Fanning Shield’s regular season drawing to a close, ladder positions are nearly set, and the Bushrangers, Bulldogs, Sharks, and Magpies are set to leave it all on the field this weekend.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers V Goulburn City Bulldogs

10:40am, Saturday 9th August at Greenway Oval

Coming off a bye round, the Tuggeranong Bushrangers will be feeling fresh as they prepare to host the Goulburn City Bulldogs on Saturday morning at Greenway Oval.

Sitting in sixth place, the Bushrangers hang a few points back from the Magpies coming into the final phase of the regular season and will be looking to pick up a win.

The last time these sides met was in round eight, where the Bushrangers emerged victorious in a tough contest, claiming a 24-14 win.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will be fighting tooth and nail to claim a win this weekend after going down 44-0 to the Warriors last Saturday.

Keep your eyes locked onto Greenway oval this Saturday morning as we kick off Round 17 of the Katrina Fanning shield.

Belconnen United Sharks V Yass Magpies

10:40am, Saturday 9th August at NSWRL HQ

The Belconnen United Sharks will host the Yass Magpies at NSWRL HQ with both teams coming off competition byes.

The Sharks sit third on the ladder and remain within reach of the second-placed Rams, who have a bye this weekend. A well-timed win here could set them up nicely to snatch second place before the season ends.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are poised to swoop into a top four finals spot this weekend, as they sit only two points back from the Bulls who also face a bye this weekend.

The last time these two sides met was in Round Eight, where the Sharks came up trumps in a nail-biting 10-4 victory.

Both teams have ladder positions to play for, so expect a blockbuster event at HQ this weekend to close out the round.
