An early injury to Aidan Sezer saw Sam Williams come into the side at halfback in Round 3 and help the Raiders start the season brightly.

In his first game of the season against the Knights, Williams scored a try and a field goal to help seal a 17-10 win against the Newcastle Knights.

Sezer returned to full fitness but initially struggled to displace the in-form Williams who helped the Raiders rise up the ladder.

He scored a further try against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 10 before Sezer forced his way back in the side after the Round 12 win over the Bulldogs.
