NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round Four Preview

The Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides will travel away this weekend, taking on the Newtown Jets and Cronulla Sharks respectively as they look to defend their undefeated starts to the season.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side will face the Newtown Jets this Saturday in a bid to start the 2024 season 4-0.

The Raiders line up an exciting side filled with youth and experience, showcasing their flare in attack and strong defence over the opening few rounds.

They meet a Newtown Jets outfit who will be raring with confidence after a late field goal from Niwhai Puru kicked them to a 25-24 victory over the Magpies last weekend.

Last weekend also saw Origin forward Corey Horsburgh return from suspension for his first game of the season. Horsburgh returns to the Cup side for round four, lining up in the front row.

Raiders captain and lock-forward Hohepa Puru will face his twin brother Niwhai Puru this weekend.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side name an unchanged line-up for this Sunday's clash with the Sharks, after last round's 44-12 victory over the Warriors at Seiffert Oval.

The Jersey Flegg Cup will be the curtain raiser to the NRL Easter Sunday clash at PointsBet Stadium, giving the under 21's an opportunity to play on the big stage.

The Raiders have begun the 2024 season in style, currently sitting first on the ladder with the best attack and second ranked defence.

They face a Sharks side coming off two straight defeats, who will no doubt look to turn the tide and put in a big performance at home this weekend.

This becomes an important clash for the Raiders to extend their current lead on the ladder as they roll into back-to-back games at home in rounds five and six.
