The Canberra Raiders were proud to support the inaugural Erindale Nines tournament with Anthony Milford and former Erindale student Jack Ahearn in attendance on the day.

The Erindale Nines tournament is a nine a side rugby league competition for students in years 10, 11 and 12 to help introduce new participants to the game in a fun and vibrant format.

"The Erindale Nines is a fantastic day for students who already play rugby league and also a great opportunity for students who don't normally play to try our game in a fun format," said the Raiders Auckland Nines Captain Jarrod Croker.

"It's no surprise that the tournament was a success, I just wish they had the competition up and running when I was at school," added Ahearn.

The tournament was an enormous success with schools from NSW, Melbourne and Canberra involved and all participants thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Congratulations to Erindale who were crowned champions on the day after defeating Victoria College in the final.

Congratulations must also go to Illawarra Sports High who won the Plate Final after defeating Queanbeyan High.
