A green entry carpet arrival, their names on the Raiders members’ honour board and one lucky member winning a trip to the 100th State of Origin match in Brisbane this year were just some of the many highlights for Raiders members at the first home game of the season last night.

While they may not have had the result they had hoped for with the match against the Titans, Raiders members were given a range of exciting and new experiences on the Raiders members appreciation day.

On arrival, members were treated as Raiders royalty as they had the opportunity to make their way through the green carpet entry, which was lined with new Emeralds Cheer Squad members and non-participating NRL Players.

The first 5000 members picked up one of the new DHA Raiders beanies, which proved to be a popular item at GIO Stadium and more of these will be distributed in future games.

Nine lucky members were given a chance to sit in the all new Huawei Legends Lounge, scoring free food and soft drinks, as well as a visit from Raiders membership Ambassador and pro golf star Brendan Jones.

Jones also took on three members at halftime in a chipping competition thanks to Huawei, with one luck member winning a Huawei Media pad and a trip of a life time to State of Origin two in Brisbane, with air fares, accommodation and tickets for two people!

Raiders member Jarrad Torress made the trip all the way from Alice Springs to see his beloved Green Machine play for the first time at home in 2014 and he was given the opportunity to toss the coin pre-game down in the tunnel and meet a few of the Raiders players.

Members at the game were also given a 10% discount off food at the GIO Stadium food outlets thanks to GEMA catering, while five lucky members scored free car washes through the members’ wave for a Waves promotion.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said the Raiders would continue to offer these members only experiences at home matches during the season and encouraged other fans to sign up before the Raiders next home match in round six.

“Our members continue to support us each and every year, so we are continually looking at ways to make their experience at home matches memorable and that extra bit special,” Furner said. “We would love to see members who attended last night’s game go and tell their friends about the benefits of membership, so we can sign more up before our next home game against the Knights in round six at GIO Stadium.”
